The Equipment Services Department is responsible for providing fleet maintenance and repair, including vehicle procurement, fuel management and distribution, accident repairs, data tracking, and fleet analysis for approximately 1000 City-owned motor vehicles and equipment.
To provide safe, reliable, efficient and long-life operating vehicles and equipment, to the City of Ontario through the application of preventative maintenance, and timely repairs and replacement.
City of Ontario Upgrades Fleet Services Department
The City of Ontario has recently completed the Fleet Services Department upgrade. An upgrade was necessary in order for the facility to meet life, health and safety requirements, and to allow the continued use of existing covered service bays for the repair of (Compressed Natural Gas) CNG vehicles.
The scope of work consisted of removing four (4) old gas heaters and lines and installing ten (10) new explosion proof electrical heaters, ten (10) new combo starters (disconnects) with new conduit lines, new switchgear panel, and a new transformer panel.
The City of Ontario was awarded funds from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) Clean Transportation Funding in the amount of up to $75,000 for Maintenance Facility Modifications.
