Water Efficient Irrigation Systems Workshop

Maximizing the use of water to achieve the desired results in your landscape takes knowledge and understanding of the soil-plant-water relationship. Join us for an indoor presentation by Debbie Figoni, Waterwise Landscaping Consultant. The program focuses on water efficiency and is co-hosted by the Ontario Municipal Utilities Company. Film Screening: Cars

Bring the whole family for the story of a rookie racecar, Lightning McQueen who gets lost on the way to California for a race and ends up in a little town called Radiator Springs on Route 66. Cucamonga Service Station Lecture

Learn about the restoration of the Cucamonga Service Station, built around 1915, with a presentation by Luana Y. Hernandez, Vice President of the Route 66 Inland Empire Club Association. The station once bustled with travelers who stopped to refuel on the legendary U.S. Route 66 highway running from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California and through the Inland Empire area. Día de los Muertos Mask Workshop
Saturday, August 20, 2016 (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
Design your own Día de los Muertos mask and enter the citywide contest, co-hosted by the City of Ontario’s Ovitt Family Community Library, Recreation & Community Services Department and the Ontario Museum of History & Art. The winners of each age group are featured in the annual Día de los Muertos exhibition. Materials will be provided. Free Admission. Reservations required. The Science of Pickling with Chef Ernest Miller
Saturday, August 27, 2016 (2:00 PM to 3:00 PM) Learn about the history of pickling vegetables and the scientific process of fermentation in this lecture and small tasting. Each year, the U.S. commemorates National Hispanic Heritage Month, from September 15 through October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Join the celebration by participating at the Ontario Museum of History & Art’s programming throughout the months of September and October!

Artist Reception for Día de los Muertos: Seasons of Life

Celebrate the opening of the annual exhibition Día de los Muertos, showcasing contemporary work in painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, ofrendas (altars), and the winners from the city-wide Mask Making Contest!  Meet the artists, enjoy live music, and participate in a drop-in workshop.
