The City of Ontario is pleased to announce that the next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is February 2, 3, and 4, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). If rainy conditions exist on that Friday or Saturday, an alternate yard sale may be held on February 9, 10, and 11, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The second yard sale weekend of 2018 will be May 4, 5, and 6.
In 2010, the City adopted a yard sale ordinance giving residents the opportunity to hold more sales each year on fixed dates and eliminating the need for yard sale permits and fees. Approved yard sale dates are the first full weekends in the months of February, May, August, and November. The rules for signs (one 6 square foot sign on the owner’s property) and rules for merchandise sold (seller’s personal property only, no new or re-sold goods) remain unchanged.
