QVC Breaks Ground for West Coast Distribution Center in Ontario, California

September 02, 2015

ONTARIO - The City of Ontario celebrated the ground breaking of QVC's West Coast Distribution Center on Tuesday with nearly 100 executives from QVC, Sares-Regis, the City of Ontario and other supporters that were key to bringing this project to Ontario.

Other attendees included representatives from the County of San Bernardino, the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development, and the State of California Franchise Tax Board, among others. A ground breaking ceremony was held at the future site at Vineyard Avenue, between Fourth Street and Inland Empire Boulevard followed by a luncheon at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Ontario Airport.

At the luncheon, Rob Muller, Senior Vice President of Customer and Business Services of QVC, announced that the LEED certified, approximately 1-million square foot facility will be operational in the third quarter of 2016 and will accommodate approximately 20 percent of QVC’s total U.S. business.

The total number of jobs at build-out will be 1,000 people.

“Throughout our site search, we considered a number of factors including location, size, proximity to transportation, and a qualified labor force,” Muller said. “When we ranked everything, Ontario was by far the best.”
