Sexual Assault Arrest

February 01, 2017

On January 31, 2017, at approximately 3:00pm, two 17-year-old girls were near the community pool in the Eden Glen community, 3800 E. Riverside Drive. They did not live in the complex.

The suspect, 36-year-old Cephas Hendricks Jr., who lives in the complex, gave them access to the pool. He started a conversation with them and offered them some alcohol. They asked him if he had any water and he left to get some from his house. When he returned with two partially full bottles of water, the victims drank from them and quickly became disoriented.

One of the victims reported passing in and out of consciousness but witnessed the assault of her friend. When the effects of the unknown drug wore off, both victims found themselves partially undressed and fled from the area.

Police were notified and began an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Cephas Hendricks. Hendricks has also previously given addresses in Rialto and Rancho Cucamonga.

Hendricks was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for lewd acts with a minor and sexual assault. He is being held in lieu of a $750,000 bail.

Detectives are releasing the suspect’s booking photo because there may be addition victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Craig Pefferle at (909) 395-2754.

Information can also be reported anonymously by calling WE-TIP at (800) 78-CRIME or online at www.wetip.com
