The Ontario Police Department will roll out a police traffic services program to deter dangerous and illegal driving behaviors that increase the risk of crashes in the community.

“Impairment, speeding and other dangerous driving behaviors jeopardize the safety of other people on the road,” Ontario Police Chief Mike Lorenz said. “This funding allows us to provide necessary traffic enforcement measures with the goal of reducing serious injury and fatal crashes on our roads.”

As part of Pedestrian Safety Month, the Ontario Police Department is supporting efforts throughout September to improve pedestrian safety and help reduce crashes and injuries.

Pedestrians are more and more at risk on the road. Based on data from the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), 2020 had the largest ever annual increase, 21 percent, in the rate at which drivers struck and killed pedestrians. In California, pedestrian deaths accounted for 27 percent of all traffic-related deaths in 2019.

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Police Department has arrested a subject believed to be involved with possessing and distributing files with Child Sexual Assault Material (CSAM).

On August 2nd, 2021, members of the Ontario / Upland Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce served a search warrant in the 1500 block of W. E Street. Ontario, CA – The Ontario Police Department has arrested five suspects believed to be involved in a shootout, which occurred in the 1500 N. block of Solano Avenue, Ontario, on February 17, 2021. This was a joint effort with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Taskforce.

Traffic investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit and run collision that occurred last night.

On August 2, 2021 at approximately 11:00 PM, a bicyclist was struck by a motorist in the area of Mission Blvd and Cucamonga Ave.

The suspect vehicle should have collision damage to the front of the vehicle.

Ontario Police respond to an assault on the SR60 freeway.

On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 5:01 P.M. Ontario Police received multiple calls regarding a fight involving several individuals on the eastbound SR60, east of Vineyard Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they contacted the parties involved. The initial altercation transpired as a result of a traffic collision. The victim sustained moderate injuries from the assault and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
