The City of Ontario is pleased to announce the next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is Friday, August 2, 2019, through Sunday August 4, 2019. If rainy conditions exist on that Friday or Saturday, an alternate yard sale may be held on August 9, 10, and 11, 2019.
ONTARIO, CA – The City of Ontario is mourning the loss of retired Fire Chief Robert Elwell, who passed away last Thursday evening.
Elwell, who served as Ontario’s Fire Chief from 2016 until his retirement last December, dedicated more than 30 years of service to the city. He began his career with Ontario as a Firefighter in 1985, working his way up the ranks to Fire Engineer, Fire Captain and Battalion Chief before being appointed to the top spot.
Elwell died suddenly last Thursday at his home in Rancho Cucamonga. He was 55 years old.

The Ontario Police Department would like to remind residents that possession and/or ignition of fireworks within city limits is illegal.
With the celebration of Independence Day just around the corner, reports of fireworks are already coming in and are increasing daily.
