The Ontario Police Department is pleased to announce our participation in the Safe Return Program.

The Safe Return Program is a confidential registry developed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department designed to reunite lost people with their loved ones. The program is a database for people who have developmental or medical disabilities which increase their risk of becoming lost. It is designed for people who struggle with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Autism, Dementia, Down Syndrome, and other developmental disorders.

No officers were injured in the collision. All suspects were taken into custody.

On June 12, 2019 at 1:19 pm, Ontario Police Officers responded to a call of a residential burglary in the 2700 block of South Homes Avenue.

As officers arrived in the area, they located a red convertible sedan fleeing the area. The suspect failed to stop for the police and led officers on a pursuit in which he endangered motorists by driving westbound on SR60 Freeway in the eastbound lanes. On Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM, the Ovitt Family Community Library Veterans Resource Center will host a How to Start a Business for Veterans Workshop. The workshop will be held in the main meeting room of the Ovitt Family Community Library, located at 215 E. C Street in Ontario. Ontario Police have arrested two suspects in connection to a shooting that occurred in the 600 block of East Francis Street, on May 29, 2019.

At approximately 1643 hours, Juan Chavez and Anthony Sandoval drove to a store in the 600 block of East Francis Street. Chavez exited the store and attempted to steal an unattended bicycle. The 13-year-old owner of the bicycle confronted Chavez outside the store. As Sandoval and Chavez drove away, they fired a round towards the 13-year-old victim.
