An Inland Empire man is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon on federal charges of aiming the beam of a laser at an Ontario Police Department helicopter.

Asarel Felix Lombera, 28, who resides in Fontana, but lived in Ontario at the time of the offense, has agreed to plead guilty to the felony offense of aiming a laser at an aircraft. He is scheduled to make his initial appearance this afternoon in United States District Court in Los Angeles.

Ontario Police are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision in which a vehicle stuck a 55 year-old woman. Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of the vehicle.

The collision occurred on February 9th, 2017 at 6:07 PM, in the intersection of Vesta Street and San Antonio Avenue. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken by helicopter to a local hospital.
