To improve our streets and protect our community, the City of Ontario is implementing new street sweeping parking restrictions. This program is essential to prevent flooding, protect our stormwater systems, and keep our streets clean.
Why is this important?
Street sweeping plays a crucial role in removing debris that can clog storm drains, leading to flooding and pollution of our waterways. It’s also a key requirement of both state and federal environmental permits that requires the City complies with water quality standards.
Key Things to Know:
Sign Installation: You’ll begin seeing the installation of street sweeping restriction signs in neighborhoods beginning in late October.
Enforcement: Enforcement of these restrictions will begin after signs are installed in your area. Be sure to look out for notifications in your neighborhood!
Move Your Vehicle: On designated street sweeping days, be sure to move your car to allow sweepers to clean the curb and gutter areas effectively.
