Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have valid high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Class C Drivers License
Desirable
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)

Different colleges will offer different aspects of fire service educations. You can obtain an Associates Degree in Fire Technology, complete a Firefighter 1 certified Fire Academy, obtain an EMT-B certificate or obtain a paramedic license. Salary
Members of the Ontario Fire Department are paid in accordance to their Memorandum of Understanding between Ontario Professional Firefighters Association and the City of Ontario.
