What updates are being considered?

The City of Ontario is evaluating proposed changes to The Ontario Plan to address property owner requests, comply with state laws, and consider associated environmental impacts. More than 1,600 acres are being evaluated for land use and housing policy changes. In addition, revisions to truck routes are being studied. Changes are primarily focused in southern Ontario.

The Ontario Plan

The Ontario Plan is a dynamic framework integrating city governance, guiding community direction from 2020 and shaping Ontario’s development for the next 20+ years.

Zoning Map

This map provides a layout of the City's zoning districts which is used to determine where land use and development may occur.

Development Code

Ontario's Development Code is a principal tool for implementing the Vision, Policy Plan (General Plan), and City Council Priorities components of The Ontario Plan as they pertain to City growth, land use, and development.

Specific Plans

Specific Plans provide specific regulations and guidelines used to implement the goals of The Ontario Plan for a particular region within the City.

Planned Unit Developments (PUDs)

Planned Unit Developments aim to enhance The Ontario Plan's goals, elevate urban design, foster high-quality, mixed-use projects, and ensure compatibility with surrounding land uses.
