Ontario City Library offers programs and services for adults including author events, literacy programs, veterans resource center, workforce development assistance, local history resources, and leisure and skill building workshops.

Workforce Development

Through a collaboration with San Bernardino County we offer assistance to county residents seeking to advance their careers through our Workforce Development Office in the lower level of the Ovitt Family Community Library. Hours of Operation
Monday – Friday 10 am – 6 pm

Workforce Development provides the following resources: 

  • Career assessments 
  • Career coaching and mentoring 
  • Community resources and referrals 
  • Individual employment counseling 
  • On the job and vocational training as determined by an individual assessment 
  • Personalized career planning 
  • Professional development workshops such as: resume building, successful interview techniques, contemporary job search strategies, how to get a government job and more

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference, meet new people, and support your community. Whether you’re a book lover, tech-savvy, or just enjoy lending a helping hand, we have a role for you! Visit any library location to pick up and fill out a volunteer application form. Library staff will be in touch to match you with a role that fits your interests and your schedule.

Types of Volunteer Opportunities

Friends of the Ontario City Library Bookstore

Help the Friends of the Ontario City Library collect and sort through book donations, create engaging displays, and help keep the bookstore in order.

Program and Operational Support

Help staff prepare for library programs like storytimes and workshops, assist in our Lightspeed Makerspace, become a literacy tutor, or participate in community events.

Special Projects


Help with local history/archival projects, outreach efforts, special events, or organizing books and materials.
