We're proud to support our community’s educators and students! To schedule a librarian visit or arrange a school tour, just fill out this online form (link). We can’t wait to help you!
Library Tours
We offer customizable library tours for educators and students. Here are some of the fun options we can include:
- A tour of the library collections that your students will love
- A visit to our exciting Lightspeed Makerspace
- A presentation on all the awesome library services available
- An overview of our free databases
- Engaging book talks on exciting reads for students
- A delightful story time for all ages
If you'd like your students to receive library cards, let us know! Library card applications must be received by the library one month in advance.
Visits to Your School
Let us come to you! Our librarian visits can be scheduled with advance notice and customized to fit your needs. Here’s what we can do:
- Chat about free databases and library materials that tie into your lessons.
- Host engaging book talks to introduce exciting reads for your students.
- Delight everyone with story time sessions for all ages.
- Present informative sessions in both English and Spanish for parents, faculty, and staff.
- Set up fun vendor and information booths at your school events (like Open House, Back to School Night, or Parent Conference week).

Educator Library Card
If you’re an educator in Ontario—whether in public, private or homeschool settings—you can apply for an Educator Library Card! Just bring your school ID, school email, and school address to your local Ontario City Library, or fill out this form (link) to have one mailed to you. With an Educator Card, you’ll enjoy fantastic borrowing perks:
- Check out up to 40 library materials for 30 days.*
- Borrow educational and non-fiction DVDs for 7 days, with two courtesy renewals.*
- Get 4 free checkouts of fee-based DVDs each year (just remember, they need to be used within the calendar year—they don’t roll over).
- If you lose your card, no worries! Educators don’t pay a replacement fee for lost, stolen, or damaged cards.
*Items reserved for others cannot be renewed.
