Residential FOG

Keep Fats, Oils, and Grease out of your Drains!

Prevent the clog, trash the F.O.G.

What's F.O.G. and Why Care?

F.O.G. stands for Fats, Oils, and Grease. These three substances should be disposed of carefully, as they can form into large, thick grease balls that create sewer system blockages. Blockage and overflows caused by F.O.G.s can lead to health hazards and property damage, threaten the environment, cause slow drainage, and disrupt your homes.

What to Do!

1

Scrape it!

a blue gloved hand scraping oil out of a pan

Let oil cool, then wipe or scrape it off and into the trash.

2

Can it!

a pan filled with oil pointing to cans

Pour oil in containers and seal them shut.

3

Trash it!

two cans going into an open trashcan

Trash all sealed containers into your trash can.

NEVER rinse oil in the sink, pour it into the drain, or use the garbage disposal or food grinder to get rid of F.O.G.s.
