Career Criminal Division (CCD)
The primary function of the Career Criminal Division (CCD) is to combat serious and organized criminal activity that impacts the safety and well-being of the citizens of Ontario. This specialized division works in collaboration with local and federal law enforcement agencies to address a wide range of criminal activities, with a particular focus on narcotics, human trafficking, firearm offenses, and other criminal operations.
The CCD is made up of highly trained personnel who are organized into specialized teams and task forces. These teams work tirelessly to tackle specific areas of crime, including narcotic trafficking, marijuana grow houses, illegal firearms, and human trafficking. The division is actively involved in investigating citizen complaints and using resources such as intelligence gathering, undercover operations, and surveillance to suppress illegal activities.
One of the key elements of CCD's work is its collaboration with various task forces, such as the Ontario Regional Interdiction of Narcotics (ORION) and the Inland Regional Narcotic Enforcement Task Force, which pool resources from multiple agencies to tackle criminal problems more effectively.
CCD's focus is on disrupting and eliminating the illegal possession, production, and distribution of controlled substances, which is closely linked to a range of violent crimes. Through coordinated efforts, investigations, and partnerships with other law enforcement agencies, the Career Criminal Division works to ensure a safer community for Ontario residents.
