One Book, One Ontario Returns with Lightbreakers by Aja Gabel

The Ontario City Library invites the community to participate in One Book, One Ontario 2026, a citywide reading experience that brings residents together through a shared book, engaging discussions, and a special author event.
 

This year's selection is Lightbreakers by acclaimed author Aja Gabel, a compelling novel that explores memory, choice, and the moments that shape our lives. Community members are encouraged to read the book and participate in the shared reading experience through free book discussions and a special author event. 
 

The One Book, One Ontario Author Event will be held on Wednesday, September 23, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ovitt Family Community Library. Aja Gabel will discuss the inspiration behind Lightbreakers, share insights into her writing process, and answer audience questions. A book signing will follow the presentation, giving attendees an opportunity to meet the author and have their copies of Lightbreakers signed.
 

Free community book discussions will also be offered:

• Wednesday, September 9 | 6:00–7:00 p.m. | Lewis Family Branch 
• Wednesday, September 16 | 6:00–7:00 p.m. | Ovitt Family Community Library 
   

Participation in all One Book, One Ontario events is free and open to the public.
