INCIDENT: SEXUAL ASSAULT SUSPECT ARRESTED
Ontario, CA – Ontario Police have arrested a 64-year-old man for the alleged sexual assault of a female minor that occurred in the City of Ontario.
On January 7, 2026, Ontario Police Officers responded to a report of sexual abuse against a child involving a family member. The 14-year-old female victim came forward to report the incident to police.
Based on information obtained during the investigation, detectives arrested Michael Patrick Fitzgerald, at his Ontario residence.
Fitzgerald is a softball coach for a Southern California Explosion youth club. Detectives discovered that he has coached teams in Orange and San Bernardino Counties in recent years. The victim was a member of the team, and investigators believe there may be additional victims.
Fitzgerald was booked at the West Valley Detention Center on several felony charges involving lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
