On August 14, 2019 at approximately 1:20 AM the Ontario Fire Department responded to a reported commercial fire located in 100 block of E. Main St. The fire was well involved upon arrival, and the structure was ultimately destroyed.
The Ontario Fire Department Investigations Unit determined through their investigation that the fire was intentionally set. In the subsequent 48 hours, with additional help from local business owners and residents, the investigation lead to an arson suspect being identified.
The Ontario Fire Department requested and utilized the resources of the Orange County Fire Authority and the Los Angeles City Fire Department, to include their accelerant detection K-9 units. With their assistance, Nathaniel Green of Ontario, CA was arrested for the arson on Friday, August 14, 2019.
A search warrant was served at the suspect’s home by the Ontario Police Department and the Ontario Fire department Investigations unit on August 22, 2019.
