The City of Ontario is pleased to announce the next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is August 3, 4, and 5, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). If rainy conditions exist on that Friday or Saturday, an alternate yard sale may be held on August 10, 11, and 12, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
In 2010, the City adopted a yard sale ordinance giving residents the opportunity to hold more sales each year on fixed dates and eliminating the need for yard sale permits and fees. Approved yard sale dates are the first full weekends in the months of February, May, August, and November. The final yard sale weekend of 2018 will be November 2, 3, and 4. The rules for signs (one 6 square foot sign on the owner's property) and rules for merchandise to be sold (seller's personal property only, no new or re-sold goods) remain unchanged.
