The City of Ontario is pleased to announce that the next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is May 4, 5, and 6, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). If rainy conditions exist on that Friday or Saturday, an alternate yard sale may be held on May 18, 19, and 20, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) to recognize the observance of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 13.
In 2010, the City adopted a yard sale ordinance giving residents the opportunity to hold more sales each year on fixed dates and eliminating the need for yard sale permits and fees. Approved yard sale dates are the first full weekends in the months of February, May, August, and November. The third yard sale weekend of 2018 will be August 3, 4, and 5. The rules for signs (one 6 square foot sign on the owner's property) and rules for merchandise to be sold (seller's personal property only, no new or re-sold goods) remain unchanged.
