INCIDENT: Catalytic Converter Suspect Arrested

Ontario Police have arrested a man in connection with catalytic converter thefts.

Kelven Caleft Menchu, was arrested on February 23, 2021 during a traffic stop for driving a stolen vehicle.  

During the investigation, it was discovered Menchu had multiple tools known to be used to steal catalytic converters. Menchu was in possession of multiple saw blades, a cordless reciprocating saw, and a vehicle jack at the time of the stop.

Menchu was booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges of Grand Theft Auto and there are pending charges from the District Attorney’s Office for burglary tools.
