Joint Communication from Ontario Police Department and School Districts

December 09, 2021

In response to an increase in threatening posts made on social media, the Ontario Police Department is working in conjunction with all districts in our area to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

When a threat is discovered, each incident is investigated immediately and to the fullest extent. In every case where a legitimate threat has been identified, prosecution is sought for all responsible parties.

We want to assure members of the public that all threats made through social media and other forms of communication are taken very seriously.

The consequences for these threats are incredibly severe, leading to school district administrative action, up to expulsion, and criminal penalties including arrest.

We urge parents and guardians to educate students regarding the severity of this issue. We encourage the public to continue to report all threatening posts and other concerning information to the school district or police officials. The following is a list of agencies and their contact information:

  • Ontario Police Dispatch: 909-986-6711
  • Ontario-Montclair School District: Steve Garcia, Director, Child Welfare & Attendance, 909-418-6477
  • Chaffey Joint Union High School District: Rob McCoy, Director of Safety, 909-988-8511
