Ontario’s National Night Out – New Date

May 12, 2020

Ontario, CA – This year Ontario’s National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Association of Town Watch has strongly recommended that all National Night Out 2020 areas celebrate on the new date. The health and safety of Ontario citizens is our number one priority.

The Ontario National Night Out Kick-Off meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2020 has been canceled. The neighborhood awards for the previous year’s event are typically given during the kick-off meeting. Ontario neighborhoods were eligible for prizes and recognition based on the overall neighborhood participation. Because we will not be hosting a Kickoff meeting, the winning neighborhoods for the 2019 Ontario National Night Out are listed below.

Ontario residents once again demonstrated neighborhood unity during Ontario’s National Night Out on August 6, 2019. Thousands of neighborhood watch participants, residents living near Dorothy A Quesada Center and travelers going through Ontario International Airport took part in the event which highlighted the community involvement. Residents in over 200 neighborhoods visited with each other during the block parties that included barbeques, potlucks, entertainment, costume parties, and more. The City of Ontario has consistently received national recognition for our National Night Out participation. Ontario was ranked number 7 in the nation for cities our size for our 2019 activities. We want to thank ALL of the participants for another successful event. Video highlights can be viewed on YouTube.

We look forward to celebrating Ontario Night Out with all of your again. Contact the Ontario Police Department Crime Prevention Unit at crimeprevention@ontariopolice.org to receive event updates or information about the neighborhood watch program.
