The Ontario Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on June 8, 2018 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The City of Ontario celebrated the ground breaking of the Element by Westin Hotel on Friday with the hotel developer Glacier House Hotels and representatives from the business community. The 90,000 square foot hotel is being constructed at the 4.5 acre site located at 900 North Via Piemonte, across from Citizens Business Bank Arena. The four-story, 131-room hotel will include amenities such as a pool, fitness center, and a 3,000 square foot full-service restaurant. The project is expected to be completed and open by Fall 2019.

Detectives are still investigating what led up to Sarah Gomez (19) running over her 21-year-old boyfriend and their 7-month-old baby.

Police were called at 11:40 pm in reference to the incident. All three involved ended up at a local area hospital.

Based on the initial investigation, Gomez, her boyfriend and their 7-month-old baby were at a family gathering a few blocks away from their home. Gomez drove them home and ended up in the driveway of their residence in the 500 block of West D Street. An argument led to the boyfriend exiting the car and holding the baby.… Read More

Ontario Police investigators, working along side the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, have arrested a suspect in connection with an Ontario homicide. The incident occurred in the 300 block of East Carlton Street, on May 12, 2018.

The suspect, Alex Garcia, was taken into custody on May 24, in San Diego County. Garcia, a 39-year-old resident of Ontario, was arrested for the shooting death of 41-year-old Nino Munoz, also of Ontario.
