2023 Black History Month

Below is a list of programming, activities and events that are being held throughout the month of February in celebration of National Black History Month.

Ontario City Library

Ovitt Family Community Library

  • African Dance with Teresa Smith
    Tuesday, February 21
    6 PM – 7 PM

    Celebrate Black History Month with Teresa Smith! Watch as she performs African dance and learn the history behind the movements through her storytelling. 
     

Ontario Museum of History & Art

  • Silkscreen Printing Workshop: Celebrate Bl-Art (Black Art)
    Saturday, February 4, 2023
    12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

    Black History Month is here and we’re celebrating Black artists! Submit your print designs to be selected as a winner for our Black History Month tote bag design!

    Submit your design here.

    Local artist, Skool Boiz, will present the winning design as part of the silk-screening workshop. Participants will learn how to silk screen print their own Black History Month tote bag to use throughout the month. Tote bags will be provided while supplies last and participants are encouraged to bring their own garments to print. For more information on how to enter the design contest, please visit the Museum’s website.
