Every year, the Summer at Ontario City Library reading program offers free engaging activities and prizes for program participants of all ages. On April 22, 2021, the Ontario Police Department will have additional officers on patrol looking for drivers that are violating the state’s hands-free cell phone law.

Under the law, drivers are not allowed to hold a phone or electronic communications device while driving. This includes talking, texting or using an app.

“Distracted driving is a serious issue, but one that can be easily solved simply by putting the phone down,” Ontario Police Department Chief, Mike Lorenz said. “That text, phone call, email or social media post can wait.”

Due to the observance of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9th, the City of Ontario is pleased to announce the next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is Friday, May 14, 2021, through Sunday, May 16, 2021. If rainy conditions exist on that Friday or Saturday, an alternate yard sale may be held on May 21, 22, and 23, 2021.

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Police have arrested two men believed to be involved in an assault, which occurred at the Ontario Mills Mall.

On April 4, 2021 at 5:15 PM, suspects, Tuvorius Mencer and Terrell Plaines, physically assaulted an Asian couple after having an exchange of words regarding social distancing while inside of the Levi’s Outlet Store. During the incident, the suspects punched the victims multiple times, causing visible injuries. Two additional victims were also physically assaulted by the suspects when they attempted to intervene.

Ontario, CA – The Ontario, San Bernardino, and Riverside Police Departments have recently identified two suspects responsible for several unsolved rapes and sexual assaults in the Inland Empire. Our agencies have worked together to capture 42-year-old Kenneth Watson and 23-year-old Barnard Saddler, both of San Bernardino. Watson and Saddler are currently no longer a threat to the community as they are in custody.

The Ontario Police Department has arrested two men believed to be responsible for a homicide, which occurred at a bar in the 1500 W block of Holt Blvd on February 7, 2021.

On February 7 at about 12:53 AM, suspects, Georgie Salazar Sr. and Georgie Salazar Jr., were involved in a fight with Daruis Baxstrum, a 29-year-old Ontario resident. During the incident, Baxstrum was shot and killed with a handgun.
