Ontario, CA – On Monday, June 19, 2023, Angel Marin was arrested for causing mass panic by making false threats at the Ontario Mills on Memorial Day. Marin yelled out "gun" and "he has a gun" as he ran through the Ontario Mills. Marin’s reckless actions caused guests to panic and run throughout the mall, causing injury to some of the patrons.

On Monday, November 6, 2023, Marin pleaded no contest to the charge of PC 148.3(b) reporting a false emergency causing injury. Marin has remained in custody since his arrest and will serve 16 months in county prison.
