About De Anza Park:

Located at the corner of Phillips Street and South Euclid Avenue.  De Anza Park was first purchased in February 1926 for water purposes.  In 1931, De Anza Park was named after Juan Bautista De Anza, first to open a route across the mountains and desert from Sonora, Mexico to the San Gabriel Mission, nucleus of the City of Los Angeles.  Additional land was purchased during 1967 and 1969 for recreation and parks purposes.
