On August 2, the Ontario City Council voted unanimously to place the City of Ontario Local Services Measure on the November 8, 2022, ballot so Ontario voters can decide whether to approve additional local funding to maintain as well as enhance City services.

If passed by a majority of Ontario voters, the City of Ontario Local Services Measure is estimated to generate an average of $95 million per year to ensure the delivery of essential services to its residents and businesses by taking the City’s sales tax from the current rate of 7.75% to 8.75%.

Ontario Police responded to a call of a male threatening customers with a knife, which led to an officer-involved shooting.

Just after 10:45 P.M., Ontario Police Dispatch received multiple calls from the Mobil gas station located in the 4300 block of East Ontario Mills Parkway regarding a male threatening customers with a knife and demanding money.

The first responding officer arrived at the location within three minutes of dispatch receiving the call. The officer encountered the male outside the gas station, who was armed with a metal weapon in each hand. The… Read More

On Monday, July 11, 2022, at approximately midnight, Ontario Police officers responded to the 7-Eleven located in the 600 block of North Vine Avenue for an armed robbery.

During the robbery the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employee. However, the suspect did not fire the handgun, and the victim was not injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as a male black adult, approximately 5’10 and 160 Lbs. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a dark colored mask. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival.
