The Ontario Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision involving an on-duty San Bernardino Police Officer. The City of Ontario announced a partnership with Nextdoor (www.nextdoor.com), the free, private social network for neighborhoods that builds stronger, safer communities with the help of residents. The critically acclaimed author of “Always Running” and the current Poet Laureate of Los Angeles, Luis J. Rodriguez is set to visit the City of Ontario for a day of poetry and discussion. Growing up in the barrios of Los Angeles, Luis succumbed at a young age to the pressures of gang life. His story of how he broke free from the cycle of violence through the power of words and education has been an inspiration to thousands.
