The Ontario Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision involving an on-duty San Bernardino Police Officer. The City of Ontario announced a partnership with Nextdoor (www.nextdoor.com), the free, private social network for neighborhoods that builds stronger, safer communities with the help of residents. The integration with Nextdoor will enable the City of Ontario to improve neighborhood safety and communications with Ontario neighborhoods.  Residents and City of Ontario officials will be able to work together to increase safety and strengthen its virtual neighborhood watch.

The critically acclaimed author of “Always Running” and the current Poet Laureate of Los Angeles, Luis J. Rodriguez is set to visit the City of Ontario for a day of poetry and discussion. Growing up in the barrios of Los Angeles, Luis succumbed at a young age to the pressures of gang life. His story of how he broke free from the cycle of violence through the power of words and education has been an inspiration to thousands. 

Ontario detectives are currently working a murder investigation related to a previously reported missing mother, 33-year-old Sally Mityas.
