The Ontario Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on February 23, 2018 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Detectives are investigating what led up to a stabbing death of a Rialto man.

On February 7, 2018 at approximately 5:52 pm, police received a call of a stabbing in the 900 block of E. Deodar Street. Officers arrived on the scene and found a victim with numerous stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he died from his injuries. The victim was identified as 25 year-old Bernardo Vasquez of Rialto.

Witnesses at the scene advised the suspect involved in the stabbing was a family member who had fled prior to officers arriving. The family… Read More

The Ontario Fire Department responded to a commercial fire in a single story restaurant at 2535 S. Euclid Avenue.  At 5:25 AM, the Ontario Fire Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting fire coming from the roof of the structure.  At 5:32 AM, the first arriving Engine Company found a large column of smoke coming from the roof to the rear.  Fire attack was immediately initiated.  Primary and secondary searches for victims were completed, and no victims were located.  The fire was confined to the property of origin, and brought under control within 35… Read More

A new exhibit, Lunar New Year: Blossoms of Spring will be on view from Thursday, February 8, 2018 to Sunday, March 4, 2018.  The Ontario Museum of History & Art is showcasing the Chinese calligraphy and brush painting of the multiethnic group, Sea of Ink Society, in honor of the Lunar New Year, the most important holiday in China – a combination of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s all rolled into one. The exhibit will be curated by Shantien Tom Chow.
